Okra
It is a vegetable grown throughout the Gambia all year round. The crop is produced by small scale farmers and its yet be realize for exportation. Gam Group Company targets to produce large quantity of okra for the local as well as the international markets in fresh forms.
Pepper Varieties
The consumption of pepper in different forms has hudge potential for income generation. The Gambia population consumes large quantity of both chilly and sweep peppers. Pepper can grow in all regions in the Gambia, and can be grown in all year round as being mostly a day neutral crop. The production of this crop will target the national, regional and sub –regional markets. Gam Group will work with women vegetable cooperatives to promote the export of local chilies to the international markets for youth and women empowerment to end poverty.
Cashew
The Gam Group Company considers cashew nut as an important export commodity. The Gambia government has taken the initiative to develop the sector through the competitiveness and export diversification project of the enhanced integrated framework. This initiative has also been fully supported by the private sector operators. The sector has sown tremendous potential in the last 20 years as an alternative crop to diversify production and export from the current concentration of groundnut. The production of raw cashew steadily increase from below 200 tons in 1998 to 2000 tons in 2007. The current export volume is 30,000 tons.
The Export Market Tomato
  • The world market price for dry tomato is very attractive in Gam Group company has given priority for its commercialization. Yearly the export value is increasing.  Our target is to export quality dried tomato to the EU as well as to the national markets. We have already started engaging our international and  local partner producer organization to purchase their production to increase our volume of export.
